Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is an upcoming 2013 Bollywood romance film directed by Ayan Mukerji under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles, who star in their second film together after Bachna Ae Haseeno. Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin will play supporting roles.The film is said to be a tribute to the cinema of Nasir Hussain, who directed classics such as Dil Deke Dekho and Teesri Manzil. The film is set to release in March 29, 2013.

Ranbir Kapoor was the first to sign the film, and is working under Ayan Mukerji's direction for the second time after Wake Up Sid.For his role in the film, Kapoor will be sporting pierced ears.His role is that of a travel show host and an ardent traveller.
There was a lot of speculation about the film's leading lady, with Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma being considered.Padukone was eventually chosen for the role.Reportedly she will portray the role of a sweet girl-next-door.
Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin have been signed on in pivotal roles.Koechlin will be seen as a happy-go-lucky tomboy to a mature woman.
It was later reported that German-Indian model Evelyn Sharma was signed on for the role of Ranbir Kapoor's initial love interest in the film. Sharma has confirmed that she will play a girly, ditzy character named 'Lara', who is constantly flirting with Kapoor's character.
The film's shooting began on March 20 in Hadimba Temple, Manali. In May, the cast filmed in Udaipur, where Kapoor and Padukone also shot for a romantic song.The unit then shot at Rajasthan which was difficult due to the heat.
After filming in Mumbai, Kapoor went alone to Paris, France to shoot a 5 minute long sequence which took 10 days.The shooting took place in August 2012 in a famous street market called Rue Mouffetard.Shooting is now taking place in Filmistan, Mumbai.
The music of Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani will be composed by Pritam, who is composing the music for a Dharma Productions film for the first time.
Things are going good for Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, we hear. A li’l birdie who flew in all the way from Manali chirped to us that the two are quite happily cosying up to each other in the beautiful north Indian hill station under the pretext of shooting for Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Ranbir and Deepika are spending a lot of time together on and off the sets without any fights or arguments.
Now that seems strange, considering that Ranbir and Deepika had a very public relationship and a very public breakup not so long ago. It had been speculated and Deepika had even hinted that Ranbir had been unfaithful to her.
The Kapoor lad was rumoured to have got really close to Katrina Kaif while shooting for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. It upset Deepika a lot and she took revenge by poking fun at him on Karan Johar’s show Koffee With Karan. However, all seems to be forgiven on both sides.
The two are back to being buddies, as they come together to give their careers a much-needed fillip with Ayaan Mukerji’s film YJHD.
Wethinks Deepika must be glad that she hasn’t removed the RK tattoo from her nape yet. Now she can deliberately yet discreetly flaunt it whenever she is promoting the film and give gossipmongers a lot to chat about. If that doesn’t help make the film a hit, nothing will.
